Having received plenty of rejection emails with no feedback or explanation ourselves, it is Written In Air’s goal to read, review and give you a thoughtful evaluation on every single one of your pitches. Unlike a lot of lit mags, there is no fee to submit.

However, I am one person, and these call outs have grown to the point where I’m receiving hundreds of submissions at every round. Getting through them all is a time consuming process requiring days of organising, careful reading and critique. It is becoming difficult to provide the best feedback on every single proposal due to the volume of labour it requires.

But I want this to remain free and open, and believe sending your creative ideas out for assessment deserves more than a frigid “no”.
